The basics of yoga are breath linked to movement with a clear intention. Yoga Basics is a class that starts with a centering and a heartfelt focus on a particular intention for the day, then breath awareness. The warm up is supine and we explore different shapes somatically, holding them for a little while or in a simple moving style in line with the intention we have set, whether that is a physical focus or a metaphysical one. Suitable for all levels, this is a very mindful class. No forcing. No pushing. We are listening to the body actively and quietening a busy mind. We use Mudra and breath work to support intention and bring a depth to the class. We finish with a relaxation and a return to intention.
