Delta Williams

Delta is a yoga teacher based in Naarm on Wurundjeri Country. Delta’s exploration of movement practices began at a young age, and it was notably impactful during her adolescence; through martial arts and in both creative and contemporary dance on Djarra Country. After obtaining her training as a creative dance teacher from Mangala Studios in 2019, her attention redirected towards yoga. Upon graduating from Gertrude St Yoga YTT in 2022, Delta completed her academic studies, majoring in both Asian Studies and Geography. She is an experienced facilitator of mental well-being programs and an educator. Delta’s philosophical approach is informed by her mentors and their personal cultures, both the ancient and modern roots of yoga, contemporary dance, South and East Asian spiritual philosophy, social justice frameworks, trauma-informed practices, her own challenges with injury and neurodiversity, and the shared community joy and connections that have developed on her yoga journey. Delta’s asana sequences are dynamic, strong, explorative and playful. Her yin classes are deep, softening and grounded in Daoist teachings. Delta strives for an environment that is welcoming, joyful, curious and expansive- woven with sentiments that ask how we can bring our learnings in yoga off the mat and into our wider communities.
