Libby Agnew

Libby Agnew’s introduction to yoga began in the 1970s as a young girl, inspired by Swami Sarasvati’s television programs. This early curiosity planted the seeds for a lifelong connection to yoga and wellness.

In the 1990s, as a young woman, Libby was drawn to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, whose philosophies deeply influenced her path. She would later work for the Steiner community in 2001, participating in yoga classes with the children of Kangia Steiner School in Murwillumbah. Around this time, while living in Melbourne, she discovered the book Kundalini and the Mother Power by Sri Chinmoy, which further ignited her spiritual and yogic interests.

In 2000, Libby undertook formal studies with the British School of Yoga (BSY), deepening her understanding of traditional practices. She developed a particular interest in Dr. John Mumford’s teachings, which guided her towards the transformative practice of Yoga Nidra.

Libby’s early passions centred on yoga with children and the philosophy of “Mother as First Guru,” especially following the birth of her own son. Influences like Shakti Kaur Khalsa’s Fly Like a Butterfly and the Pawanmuktasana series (Joint Rotations) became foundational in her practice and teaching.

Her journey then expanded into Ayurvedic Medicine and Spa Therapies, including massage, marma therapy, Shirodhara, and Kati Basti. She further qualified in beauty and health treatments such as facials, lymphatic therapy, and a range of advanced spa therapies, blending ancient wisdom with modern techniques.

In 2022, Libby created and began facilitating workshops in Yoga Nidra, Guided Meditation, and Facial Chi. These have been well-received in communities such as Port Fairy and Warrnambool, where she continues to share her knowledge and passion annually.

For Libby, life is a joyful exploration of healing, movement, and spiritual growth—a journey she continues to walk with grace and dedication.
