The Art of Relaxation - Yoga Nidra
11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Evolve Yoga with Nitya

Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This state of consciousness (yoga nidra) is different from meditation in which concentration on a single focus is required. In yoga nidra the practitioner remains in a state of light pratyahara with four of his or her senses internalised, that is, withdrawn, and only the hearing still connects to the instructions. The yogic goal of both paths, deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation are the same, a state called samadhi.

Kundalini Trance Drumming

Siri Shakti Kaur combines her background in Middle Eastern dance and drumming with the powerful teachings of Kundalini Yoga to offer an experience of totality. Participants are welcome to bring drums, rhythm instruments and voice to the space to create the pulse. Some drums and shakers will be available.

To journey within, to gain the forgotten connection of body and mind, to become the captain of your vessel. One could call this meditation, and it is, meditation through movement. We begin by familiarising ourselves with the hoop, how the hoop moves and how we use our body to move the hoop through Hoop Yoga. Using breath to stimulate Prana and invigorate the body. Once connected, we will explore hoop tricks and moves available to all skill levels. Working at our own level and challenging ourselves to grow beyond. As we grow, we begin to join the moves and tricks together into a flowing, moving Hoop Dance. This is suited to all hoop & yoga skill levels and experience, from beginner to advanced.

Insight Meditation: Introduction to Vipassana Practice Lynn Montgomery. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

Mind, Body & Mudras
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Liina Flynn.

Harness your intentions and explore your physical body in an elemental vinyasa flow designed to help us unlock where we might be stuck, how to let go and and how to move onwards and manifest what we need. Mudras or ‘energy seals’ facilitate the flow of energy in the subtle body and enhance your journey within, creating powerful links between the mental, emotional and physical bodies. When you incorporate mudras into your practice, you can generate the energy you need, from creating more inner fire power, calming the mind or finding more openness and grounding in your life.
